I
want to welcome everyone back to another fun and excited fall season at
Northwest Bakersfield Baseball. We are all very excited to kick off the
2010 season on September 12th. I would like to personally
thank all our hard working coaches for volunteering their time to make
Northwest the premier playing facility in Kern County. Soon our young
boys and girls will be taking to the fields and I hope we can all make
this a fun season for them. Remember we are here for the kids. When they
leave this park each game day they should feel as if they accomplished
something. This is a league that focusing on good sportsmanship and
positive coaching. If we can all remember that we are here for the
players, the season will be a successful one. If you have any problems
this season please contact your league rep. You will find names and
emails on our website. Have a great season and PLAY BALL!
Thanks

Spring 2010 Maintenance Report
As we prepare for another season
we look at the maintenance and repairs that have been completed and
those that we have planned. Fields were fertilized after the fall season
and another application is scheduled this month.
Major projects will soon be underway. This includes repairing
bleachers. We are pruning some trees that interfere with the flight of
baseballs on six of our fields. Also, we have worked with our plumbing
partners to repair the bathroom faucets during February. Transmitter problems
with some of the scoreboard units have been reviewed and we are working
with the manufacturer to repair and replace as needed before spring
games begin.
Should you have any questions or wish to report any maintenance issues,
email John at jpavletich@pavelectric.com
We believe
that athletic competition of NWB players should be fun and should also
be a significant part of a sound educational program, embodying high standards of ethics and sportsmanship while developing
good character and other important life skills. Essential elements
of character building are intrinsic in the concept of sportsmanship and
six core ethical values: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility,
fairness, caring and good citizenship. The highest potential of sports
is achieved when learning from the T.E.A.M. concept (Teaching,
Enforcing, Advocating and Modeling these values). Good-faith
efforts to honor the words and spirit of this Code will improve the
quality of our programs and the well-being of all teammates. This Code
applies to players, parents/guardians and fans involved in Northwest
Baseball.
